Awards for State Universities and World Class Organizations
Bogor, Monday (February 4th, 2008) -- The Minister of National Education (Mendiknas) Bambang Sudibyo, granted the Anugerah Anindyaguna Certificate to seven state universities and six higher education institutions which received the international standards awards. Meanwhile, the certificate of superior scholarship was granted to gold medalists of some international competitions.
Symbolically, Bambang granted the certificates after delivering his speech and officially opening the event National Discussion on Education 2008, or Rembuk Nasional Pendidikan 2008 at Pusdiklat Pegawai Sawangan, Bogor, on Monday, February 4th, 2008. At the same event, the Mendiknas granted the National Student ID (NISN); National School ID (NPSN); and Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff ID (NUPTK).
The launching of NISN, NIPSN, and NUPTK, marked the opening of the event. Officially, the Mendiknas also launched the Doctors Directory, Booking Reformation, and Online Dictionary.
The state universities that were granted the Anugrah Anindya Certificate were universities that have received recognition in the international world (according to the Times Higher Education Supplement/THES version). They are The Gadjah Mada University (ranked 360), The Bandung Institute of Technology (ranked 369), The University of Indonesia (ranked 395), The Diponegoro University, The Airlangga University, and The Bogor Institute of Agriculture (ranked 401-500), while The Open University (or Universitas Terbuka) received an international awards in the form of accreditation certificate from the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE).
Meanwhile, some higher education institutions that received international awards are The Integrated Laboratory of Research and Testing (LPPT), The Gadjah Mada University (the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 certificate), The Research and Public Service Institution of Gadjah Mada (certificate of Regional Center of Expertise in Education for Sustainable Development from United Nation University), Institute for Human Virology and Cancer Biology (IIHVCB), University of Indonesia’s Medical Faculty (certificate with a classification of Bio Safety III (BS III) from America Biohazard).
Other institutions that received the Anugerah Anindyaguna Certificate were SEAMEO-Biotrop, for international recognition in the form of certificate as a Regional Center of Expertise in Education for Sustainable Development from United Nation University, Bandung State Polytechnic (certificate of Approved Training Body from International Institute of Welding), Laboratory of Standard Testing for Food Products, Cianjur Center of Development for Educators and Educational Forces (P4TK) of Agriculture (certificate of ISO/IIEC 17025:2005).***
